Department Head for Law and Security

About the Position

As the department head for our new department for Law and Security, you will play a central role in building the organization and shaping a strong management team. You will lead the department's strategic work and be responsible for developing methods, structures, practices, and a culture that supports our long-term direction. The role of department head entails overall responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel – and you will drive the development of four units within law, security and preparedness, information management, as well as procurement, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will report to the Director General and be part of the agency's management team along with six other department heads.

The role includes working in a socially vital organization where high security and good preparedness are central components. You will also lead the work in an environment where several of our deliveries are subject to medical technology regulations, where broad experience and the ability to create good collaboration will be important for building a stable and development-oriented organization.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident and clear in your leadership. You are development- and collaboration-oriented and build relationships at all levels of the organization. In your change management, you are strategic and take a holistic perspective. You are courageous, action-oriented, and take responsibility for your department's development and results.

We are looking for you who have:

• a law degree
• several years of relevant managerial experience with responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel
• several years of relevant experience leading other managers in heavily regulated operations
• current experience in strategic development work within complex organizations
• experience in qualified legal work.

It is advantageous for the position if you have:

• experience working with security and preparedness
• experience working in a government agency
• experience working with medical technology or national medical information systems.

The employment is permanent with a six-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement. The place of employment is Kalmar or Stockholm. The work may involve business travel, primarily between Kalmar and Stockholm.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. Therefore, we may need to conduct a security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). For some tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
